A bond for life

The IAS offers researchers from partner universities the opportunity to take part in the academic activities of the Institute as an Associate Fellow and to help shape these activities.

About the Program

The IAS believes in supporting the exchange with international scientists even after the end of the research period. Therefore, we welcome Associated Fellows at the IAS to support the work of the IAS and its Fellows.

The Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) offers former Fellows the opportunity to continue contributing their experiences and research in a stimulating and interdisciplinary environment. The IAS provides a conducive working environment by granting access to the modern research infrastructure of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), University Göttingen (UG) and University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG). Additionally, you will have access to interdisciplinary research colloquia and can collaborate advantageously with other scholars.

On this page, you will find reports on IAS-Associated Fellows as well as information about the Associated Fellow Program.

Become an Associated Fellow at IAS

With its large research network, the IAS makes it possible to host international researchers. You will be involved in all IAS activities and receive excellent support from the entire IAS team. The prerequisite is a cooperation agreement between the home university and the IAS and a research or lecture programme for the time as a Visiting Fellow. The General Assembly decides on the admission.
